Othello Performance Analysis

On the twenty-fifth of April 2015, I had the opportunity to perplex the 8.30 p.m. performance of wizard of Shakespeares greatest t heatdies, Othello, at KLPAC. tell by Lim Kien downwind and Qahar Aqilah, the present stars Grace Ng, Sandee Chew, Lim Soon Heng, Arief Hamizan, David H. Lim, Kgia Loong and Kien Lee himself in the title role. Shakespeare Demystified: Othello tells a tale of prejudice, get by, envy, jealousy and dispatch all in hundred minutes. The play starts off with Roderigo (Kgia Loong) vocalizing Brabantio (David) that his daughter, Desdemona (Ng) has eloped with Othello, the General of the Venetian Army. He is not happy as Othello is of African and Arabian job but Desdemona convinces him that she truly does love Othello. Meanwhile, Iago (Lim) who has been Othellos comrade for many years is mad with rage as he was not chosen for the post of Leftenant. Instead, Othello chose Michael Cassio (Arief) for the post. set by envy, Iago spreads rumours of Desdemona s issue with Cassio to Othello causing Othello to doubt Desdemonas loyalty to her.\nThe production apply a very minimalistic set. sextette black boxes were used and manipulated passim the play to show the varied settings. It is important to note that or so of the time, it is often Iago who is moving the boxes almost to show the next scene. jibe to Kien Lee, this was because in the plot, it is Iago who is doing all the employment through his words and actions. indeed it seemed fitting that Iago should be the one manipulating the sets. The lighting was plain livid throughout the show ascribable to the nature of the minimalistic set. In the lord play, Othello is a black man. As Kien Lee is Chinese, the difference mingled with Othello and the other characters was represented by a change in costume. \n The acting on a whole was quite convincing. Lims personation of Iago was superb. He managed to show Iagos shabbiness side in a rather unconventiona...
